Falling Down

Murray and I were to write some songs together, the easiest way being by my giving him lyrics and he writing the music. I had a whack of lyrics which I passed on to him. In the batch were several encapsulations of my broken heart. I'm a sad case with a broken heart. This is one of those brokenheartedsadcase lyrics. Murray chose it. I like to use words like bricks and old lumber, renovate and shine up and place in a new light. Words from happier days are woven into these lyrics. Some of you may recognize them.

Lyrics

I'm not calling you
I'm not picking up the phone
It's not your name I whisper when I'm all alone...
I'm not dreaming
calling your name out in my sleep
I have no regrets about the promises we keep....

this old house is falling down, falling down falling down
keeping my hand on the hammer
what goes around comes around, comes around...

I'm not calling you
No that wasn't your name
some things are so unspeakable, so full of shame...
I'm not standing still, I'm not waiting here
My hands are clean and my purpose is clear...

this old house is falling down, falling down, falling down
keeping my hand on the hammer
what goes around comes around, comes around...

this old house is falling down, falling down, falling down
give me a can of gasoline
what goes around comes around, comes around...

Wholly
